HIS APPROACH

Technology finds meaning in practice.

Dian Diallo is a digital entrepreneur, trainer and consultant specialising in the strategic use of artificial intelligence and digital technologies. Originally from Senegal and based largely in Burkina Faso and Cameroon, he has spent several years helping lawyers and legal professionals, as well as journalists, institutions, businesses and organisations, make practical use of AI and digital transformation tools.

As early as 2005, Dian Diallo used optical character recognition (OCR) to accelerate the digitisation of 15,000 pages of the journal Éthiopiques, working with a team of students. The Fondation Léopold Sédar Senghor and the Agence universitaire de la Francophonie entrusted him with this assignment.

From 2015, Dian Diallo publicly shared his reflections and reading on artificial intelligence and technological change. In 2018, he encouraged young Africans to study machine learning. This awareness-raising work extended into training on AI uses, mentioned in his publications as early as May 2022, notably for journalists, before ChatGPT’s public launch.

The founder of RD Digital, he works in several countries across West and Central Africa and collaborates with various institutions, international organisations and higher education establishments.

His training favours a practical approach centred on direct experimentation with artificial intelligence tools in professional environments.

Dian Diallo brings “first-hand” AI knowledge to his audience. Without technical complexity, he shares approaches and use cases adapted to professional contexts. As a conduit for strategies and a trusted source of strategic intelligence, he shares concrete strategies for using AI. Participants in his training consistently gain rare access to high-level information. You leave with practical methods you can apply the very next day.

Commissioned by the Fondation Léopold Sédar Senghor and the Agence universitaire de la Francophonie, the assignment combined an HP ScanJet 5590 scanner and optical character recognition (OCR) software with human correction, validation and text integration. Dian Diallo, then the journal’s webmaster, worked with a team of students to preserve this heritage and make it available online.
